MWMCA President Receives the Comptroller’s Medallion
Wayne R. Frazier, Sr., President, Md. Washington Minority Companies Association; Peter V. R. Franchot, Comptroller, State of Maryland

The Comptroller’s Medallion is awarded to, "Marylanders who make a difference." Comptroller Franchot indicated that "whether it's leveling the playing field for minority businesses, expanding economic opportunity for those too often left behind, or holding state officials accountable, that Wayne Frazier is a Marylander who makes a difference."  As Franchot convened the meeting he said,  "As a member of the Board of Public Works, which has oversight over Maryland's procurement system, I convened this meeting of minority and women-owned business stakeholders to provide an opportunity to discuss the current challenges facing the MBE community. As Comptroller, I will always be a staunch advocate for expanding opportunities to minority- and women-owned businesses and will always believe that MBE participation is not merely an aspiration, but an expectation in state contracting."
