Maryland Live! Casino is the Most Inclusive Gaming Operation in the State

Starting in 2010, prior to the casino opening for business in 2012, The Cordish Companies, owner and operator of Maryland Live! Casino, felt an obligation to prepare minority and women-owned businesses for entry and contract work in Maryland’s brand new gaming industry. During the early period, The Cordish Companies hosted several training and preparation sessions that always included Maryland Lottery and Governor’s Office of Minority Affairs (GOMA).

Now, as of December 1, 2016, Maryland Live! Casino has hosted nine such outreach events, bringing in a total of 230 other prime vendors, to introduce and share their procurement opportunities as well. This time however, they went beyond expectations and invited Johns Hopkins University & Johns Hopkins Health System and other, B-Local firms such as Under Armour, Sagamore Development, Legg Mason & Co., LLC, and T. Rowe Price to be participants and they all came with a wealth of opportunities.  “The Cordish Companies and Maryland Live! Casino is the most inclusive gaming operation in the State and they care about providing opportunities. I thank them for that”, said Wayne R. Frazier, Sr., president of Md. Washington Minority Companies Association (MWMCA)
