McCormick Interiors Project Provides Opportunities for Small and Large Contractors

Regional MBE and WBE Companies Encouraged to Get Engaged on the Project
Maryland contractors interested in the project at the outreach event.

On the snowy morning of winter March 16th, more than 100 brave and industrious representatives of the region’s best and brightest MBE and WBE companies showed up to learn about how to get involved with Gilbane Building Company on the McCormick Interiors Project. This project calls for a total and complete interior and exterior remake of an existing building in Hunt Valley, Maryland as the new headquarters for McCormick and Company, a 128-year-old Maryland-based spice and food manufacturing conglomerate.

“The McCormick Interiors project will provide numerous opportunities for small and large contractors. We are pleased that the business leaders have taken the first step to get engaged on the project,” said Michael Ricketts, Sr. Project Executive with Gilbane Building Company.

MWMCA is extremely proud of the owner/developer of this project for being inclusive and asking Gilbane to seek MBE/WBE inclusion even though this is a very private project and funding did not require same. This is one of the reasons why we selected Gilbane, as our “Most Inclusive Prime Contractor of the Year”, for 2017 said Wayne R. Frazier, Sr., President of Md. Washington Minority Companies Association, (MWMCA). For information/questions, contact Joe Averza @ JAverza@Gilbaneco.com.
