Contractors Gather To Discuss Baltimore City Public Schools $1.2 Billion Construction Plan

The local prime contracting world gathered at the Camden Yards Warehouse on Friday, July 11, 2014, as the long awaited pre-proposal conference for Baltimore City Public Schools’ $1.2 Billion historic construction plan was discussed. The pre-proposal conference was the final tune-up for prime contractors to publicly quiz and question Maryland Stadium Authority and Baltimore City Public School officials prior to submitting their proposals for consideration to become one of the fifteen finalists for Construction Management at Risk contenders.

 

Spotted in the room were officials for The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company; HESS Construction; Turner Construction Company; TN Ward Company;  J. Vinton Schafer & Sons, Inc.; F.H. Paschen, S.N. Nielson; Smoot Construction D.C.; Tito Contractors Inc.; Freeland Construction Company;  Brawner Builders;  CAM Construction; Hensel Phelps; and Cain Contracting Inc., to name a few.

 

Maryland certified minority and women-owned contractors and suppliers are eligible to participate in this massive project which may span over seven years. This project presents a perfect time to get your company financially healthy by winning opportunities and performing at your best. The CMs at Risk must meet the overall goal of 29%, which is set for all of the individual projects, and they must pay each contractor for their performance.
