Johns Hopkins University Seeking Recommendations for Vendor Acceleration Program

Vendor Acceleration Program

Johns Hopkins University, in conjunction with the Surdna Foundation, has launched an initiative to support Baltimore City based minority and women owned business. The objective of the program is to provide established MBEs and WBEs with technical assistance to increase their ability to meet the purchasing needs of large area employers like JHU. Through this program, a competitively selected group of companies will receive professional advisory support from Next Street Financial (www.nextstreet.com), a modern merchant bank that serves small and medium sized businesses. The program will focus on helping the selected businesses evaluate new products and services that meet identified market needs— with a specific focus on the purchasing needs of large Baltimore City employers.

In order to be considered for selection in this program, interested businesses must meet the following qualifying criteria:

  • Be a minority and/or women owned enterprise
  • Generate at least $500,000 in annual gross revenue
  • Be headquartered in Baltimore city (or have a location in Baltimore City that meets the above revenue criteria)

The online application (available at http://sgiz.mobi/s3/Vendor-Acceleration-Program) will “go live” on November 3rd and will be open until November 28th.
