Record Number of Registrants Attend Minority Vendor Fair Hosted by Maryland Live!
Hanover, MD ( DATE ) – Maryland Live! Casino continues to receive praise from the Md. Washington Minority Companies Association (MWMCA) for its ongoing support of minority and women-owned firms.
The collaborative partnership between the two companies has produced several minority outreach events, including semi-annual Minority Vendor Fairs; the most recent of which garnered a record 600+ small, minority -and women-owned business registrations. The attendees had the opportunity to meet with 32 prime entities, including other Maryland casinos, construction companies, government agencies, public unities, and suppliers who provided information on current and upcoming work and/or contract opportunities. Several Anne Arundel County local government entities also participated to share their upcoming work and contract opportunities.
Wayne Frazier, President of the MWMCA, has always been quick to recognize Maryland Live!’s outreach efforts saying, “Like the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals, Maryland Live! They are always willing to be creative and inclusive to make sure that minority and women-owned firms are utilized in their day to day operations. In 2014, the MWMCA honored Maryland Live! Casino as the Most Creative and Inclusive Gaming Facility in Maryland; and, in 2015, Charles Felton, Director of Purchasing for Maryland Live! was honored as the Most Inclusive Purchasing Director of the Year.
Maryland Live! will continue the tradition of educating and bringing awareness of the opportunities that exist at all Maryland casinos through regular minority vendor outreach fairs produced in association with the MWMCA. The next is scheduled for December 2015.
