Seeking MDOT Certified MBEs for the Construction of Bowie State University – Living-Learning Residence Hall. Located at the corner of Laurel Bowie Road and Jericho Park Road, the proposed Entrepreneurship and Live-Learn community is a six-story building comprised of roughly 550 student housing beds with lounges and studies above a mix of ground-floor uses. The currently heavily wooded, hillside site is rich with dense landscape, a stream, and other natural features.
The ground floor is comprised of a prominently located Entrepreneurship Center in a double height space, a roughly 6,000-square-foot retail space that is connected to Entrepreneurship center, classroom spaces ideally located for both residents and Entrepreneurship center occupants, flexible meeting / study spaces and lounge / amenity spaces for residents. Typical residential levels are strictly for residents and are designed as pod-style housing, consisting of a smaller group of units clustered around common amenities such as lounges, study spaces and community kitchens.
