The Visitor Center 1 (VC1) project requires the design and construction of a new access control facility which will be used for the receiving and processing of visitors and guests entering the National Security Agency Campus in Ft. Meade, Maryland. This project will be executed through a design-build process with the new VC1 building serving as the replacement for the existing Visitor Control Center; Building 9800F. The new VC1 facility must meet the building program contained herein while not exceeding 10,000 square feet in size. This improvement is needed since the current access control facility does not comply with the UFC Standards, as well as other critical security and functional requirements defined by the user. The project includes numerous site improvements to accommodate the new visitor center facility and to facilitate the construction process, including the demolition of the existing 9800F building.
