Project Description:
The County Commissioners of Queen Anne’s County will be accepting design proposals from qualified engineering firms for the purpose of preparing contract documents to construct a sewerage collection system to service the Southern Kent Island Sanitary Project – Phase 4 consisting of approximately 20,500-feet of HDPE pressure sewerage main, of various small diameters, utilizing horizontal directional drill techniques, to collect wastewater from the subdivisions of Chesapeake Estates, Sunny Isle of Kent, Matapeake Estates and the community of Batts Neck/Normans all off of Romancoke Road (aka Md Rt 8) on Kent Island. It is intended that these communities will be served utilizing the Septic Tank Effluent Pump (STEP) collection technology however this particular design consists solely of the various collection mains which will accept the wastewater from the STEP served areas (another design contract will address the individual STEP plans for each improved property – the transmission main has previously been constructed along the length of Romancoke Road as a component of Phase 1 and stub-outs into the four communities are in place).
