Race Description

Run Hope Work is excited to bring you our Run For A Better Life 5K. Racers will take on the fast, flat, out and back 5K course on the C&O Tow Path starting at Fletcher's Cove and initially running upstream. Run Hope work is a nonprofit organization that helps DC residents ages 20-24 who are returning from the justice system with gun charges and violent offenses. Each day they run as a group at 7am, have a mindful mediation moment and are then prepared for the workforce through workshops, trainings and building trades certifications.

We are running to raise awareness about our mission: Run Hope Work helps improve the lives of young adults in DC who are battling homelessness, returning from the justice system, struggling with single parenthood, and/or facing unemployment but are motivated to work. Funds raised through this 5K and other efforts allow Run Hope Work to get more DC youth off the streets and into jobs in the construction trades. We're helping empower young adults through running, meditation and workforce development to end the cycle of poverty and violence. Please join us! Let's all Run for a Better Life. All race day participants will receive a Run For A Better Life 5K t-shirt.
