The DMV’s hottest fall business event of 2019 for Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBE) occurred at Live! Casino & Hotel’s Event Center on Thursday, November 21, 2019. Over 80 prime corporations, government agencies, financial and surety institutions, trade groups, universities, healthcare concerns, and public energy and water utilities agreed to exhibit their procurement offerings, valued at $50+ billion, with over 1,500 participating. Live! Casino and Hotel has hosted the semi-annual outreach event since 2013, which has attracted over 11,000 small, minority and women-owned business representatives and approximately 600 corporations participating as exhibitors, matchmaking meeting host, and presenters.

“It's very gratifying to see so many companies taking part in the Minority Outreach Fair. We’re very proud of our history and partnership with Wayne and the MWMCA in providing economic opportunities to minority, women, and veteran-owned businesses and residents in our community,” said Travis Lamb, General Manager, Live! Casino & Hotel. “Live! is committed to be a leader in assisting these companies and individuals obtain access to contract opportunities. We look forward to continuing and expanding these types of outreach events in all Live! Casino jurisdictions.”

Live! Casino & Hotel consistently treats all its guest in royal and regal fashion, while placing a special emphasis on showcasing their new world-class Event Center to accommodate events like the Minority Outreach Fair. Live! has provided not only a venue to accommodate large events, but an opportunity for large corporations to connect with small, minority and women-owned firms. “I know of no other corporate entity in the DMV that provides a forum for this type of top level corporate and government procurement spending opportunities for M/WBE firms under one roof and covering all expenses. Live! Casino & Hotel is the BEST casino for minority business inclusion in Maryland by far,” said Wayne R. Frazier, president of MWMCA and event co-host.

Several event participants provided quotes on their experience at the Minority Outreach Fair:

Elisa Brown, Minority/Small Business Coordinator of Anne Arundel County Office of Central Services wrote, “The MWMCA Minority Outreach Fair was outstanding! It was a well-managed and well-thought-out event, great attendance and exposure for Anne Arundel County. I met quality prospective businesses to do work with Anne Arundel County.”

Joseph S. Williams, Sr., President of District Safety Products, Inc. wrote, “The Minority Outreach Fair was once again a success for our company. The execution from MWMCA’s staff from registration to the event closing was exceptional as usual. We were able to meet with certain prime exhibitors, which is so advantageous for us as a small business, because we would have difficulty reaching these companies otherwise. Although we had an agenda prior to going, we were actually able to walk away with new unexpected opportunities.”

During the breakout session, five (5) presenters from different economic or development projects gave overviews on their 2020 opportunities.

They include:
M&T Bank
Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority (MWAA)
Montgomery County, MD Office of Procurement
Tradepoint Atlantic
Washington Gas
