The Greater Baltimore region is blessed to be home for so many fine bankers and financial institutions. One banker stands at the top for her commitment to improve the lives of those in our community who seek a helping hand.

Md. Washington Minority Companies Association (MWMCA) is pleased to announce that M&T Bank’s Detra Miller, Administrative Vice President and Minority -Owned Business Bank Manager is being honored by the American Bankers Association (ABA) with it’s George Bailey Distinguished Service Award.

“Detra Miller, is a one-of-a-kind type of Banker who cares about her community as well as addressing profitability for the Bank. She understands that from the local community comes our servants of business and civic community leaders. Her care and dedication are second to none which changes the trajectory of peoples lives for the better. God Bless her,” said Wayne R. Frazier, Sr., president of MWMCA.

We spoke with Detra Miller and she indicated, “I am extremely honored to be a co-recipient for the ABA Foundation’s 2020 George Bailey Distinguished Service Award.  Helping to serve entrepreneurs of color and female entrepreneurs has truly been the greatest highlight of my career.  I am appreciative for the trust that entrepreneurs and community leaders have in M&T, my team and me to help them to sustain and grow their businesses.  I do not take that trust for granted.  I am grateful to the leadership of M&T Bank for being my biggest supporter and for giving me the boost that I needed to kickstart my mission on intentionally and proactively being a difference maker for communities of color in the Mid-Atlantic.”
