The seven-story, 246,000 SF building will house the School of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences, uniting the university’s Biology and Chemistry departments under one roof. Designed for the 21st-century learning and innovation, the facility will have plenty of advanced research labs, IT spaces, collaboration zones, and a botanical greenhouse. Moody Nolan, the country's largest African American-owned architecture firm, designed the Science Center as more than just an average university facility. The building will pursue LEED Gold certification and include sustainable features such as a green roof and grey water reclamation systems, aligning innovation with environmental responsibility. This transformational project stands not only as the largest state investment in the university’s history but as a legacy of innovation, equity, and visionary leadership.
