
DC Water’s Clean Rivers Project is planning a 4.2-million-gallon underground storage tunnel to capture sewage combined with stormwater, known as combined sewer overflow (CSO), that would otherwise overflow into Piney Branch and ultimately Rock Creek during heavy rains. This project will reduce overflow volume from CSO 049 by 96 percent in an average year when completed.
Scope of Work:
The construction scope of work for this project generally includes but are not limited to:
Temporary toilets and cleanup stations, dumpsters, street sweeping, snow removal, vac truck, signage, fuel supply, explosive supply, ready mix supply, tunnel and concrete formwork, rebar supply, jobsite photos, office cleaning, field engineering, security guards, maintenance of traffic, materials testing, geotechnical monitoring, tunnel survey verification, aggregate, asphalt paving, trucking & hauling, concrete sidewalk, RCP supply, precast utility structure supply, graffiti removal, landscaping, earthwork, site utilities, selective demolition, electrical, cast in place concrete, cast stone, miscellaneous metals, and structural precast supply.
