More Than 600 Registrants from Small, Minority and Women-Owned Businesses Connected with Top Prime Companies To Identify Potential Work and Contract Opportunities
Live! Casino & Hotel’s Semi-Annual Minority and Women-Owned Business Outreach Fair was recently held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Live! Center Stage located inside the Live! Casino & Hotel. Over 600 small, minority and women-owned firms signed up to identify current and future work and/or contractual opportunities for their companies with the Mid-Atlantic region’s top prime companies. In addition, over 20 prime companies participated in matchmaking sessions whereas a small business representative sat down privately, one-to-one, with various prime companies to discuss their companies’ capabilities.
Live!’s new General Manager, Travis Lamb, opened the morning with goodwill greetings followed by Charles Felton, Director of Purchasing, and Luwanda Jenkins, Vice-President of Diversity and Community Relations for The Cordish Companies.
Live! Casino & Hotel has been hosting this great enabling event since 2012, the year they opened for business, with over 5,000 M/WBE’s attending and meeting over 300 vendors, with new vendors added every year.
In 2018, Live! Casino & Hotel will unveil the new $200M, 17-story, grand event center and luxury hotel that will have a 1,500 seat concert venue, banquet seating up to 800, and flexible meeting space. This will enable Live! to host its Minority Outreach Fairs in a larger facility.
Live! Casino & Hotel is committed to spending with Maryland certified MBE’s and WBE’s along with philanthropic giving and support of our U.S. Armed Forces. They are the only casino and hotel that is owned by Marylanders who make their homes here as well. Md. Washington Minority Companies Association (MWMCA) is very proud to serve as a co-host to Live! Casino & Hotel’s signature Minority Outreach Fairs and thankful for Live!’s commitment to inclusion.
The next semi-annual Minority Outreach and Matchmaking Fair will be held on or around the first week in December 2017.
