The University of Maryland Medical System’s (UMMS) Minority and Women-Owned Business Program (MWOBP) team members are looking to meet and explore business opportunities with viable and qualified Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) located throughout the State of Maryland and with MWBEs located in identified organizational HubZones and targeted zip codes.
UMMS is committed to doing business with MWBEs that are embedded in underserved and underrepresented communities that look to hire and train individuals from those very same communities. UMMS understands the importance and value of developing mutually beneficial business relationships with MWBEs because MWBEs have supported the continued success of the organization. KEY FUNCTIONS OF THE MWOBP:
• Collaborate systemwide to identify business opportunities for MWBEs
• Work daily to integrate UMMS’ supplier diversity goals into the systemwide procurement process
• Identify MWBEs with the capacity to manage and fulfill RFP requirements
• Educate current and upcoming MWBEs on how to improve their RFP readiness for future success
• MWBE Cohort Capacity Building Program in collaboration with Robert H. Smith School of Business
