Spring Breakfast Honoree David Fisher
As the Manager of Supplier Diversity for Hensel Phelps, David Fisher provides small business program oversight to ensure full compliance with project specific SBE/MBE/DBE requirements in the Mid Atlantic Region totaling more than $3B of contracting opportunities. Additionally, Mr. Fisher conducts extensive trade partner outreach sessions, small and local business partnering opportunities, and coordinates Hensel Phelps’ community and workforce development initiatives.
Mr. Fisher also leads Hensel Phelps’ Technical Assistance Program to help small business owners work successfully with Hensel Phelps to grow their overall capacity and capabilities while managing Hensel Phelps’ Emerging Trade Partner, Head Start Bonding Assistance, and Mentor-Protégé programs.
Mr. Fisher holds a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) and is affiliated with several industry organizations including:
- American Contract Compliance Association (Master Compliance Administrator)
- Maryland Minority Contractors Association (MMCA)
- Md. Washington Minority Companies Association (MWMCA)
- Associated Builders & Contractors of Metro Washington and Baltimore
- Associated General Contractors of DC and the
- Montgomery County Hispanic and Prince George’s County Chambers of Commerce.
David began his career with Hensel Phelps in 2007 and was the 2019 Maryland Minority Contractors Association “Outstanding Minority Advocate”, 2022 Maryland Minority Contractors Association “Minority Outreach” and 2024 MD Washington Minority Contractors Association “Best Prime Construction Manager for Minority Business Enterprise”.
