The Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) during its annual Bridging the Gap Achievement Awards program on November 23, 2020 announced that Md. Washington Minority Companies Association (MWMCA), led by Wayne R. Frazier, Sr.,  earned the honor of the Elijah E. Cummings Leadership in Diversity Award. The award is presented to an individual or organization that has consistently demonstrated support for small, minority and/or women-owned businesses and has worked tirelessly with them to achieve success, business growth and development.

“MWMCA is pleased to accept this honor in the name of the late great public servant representing Maryland’s 7th Congressional District from 1996 until his death in 2019, the former U.S. Congressman Elijah E. Cummings. MWMCA is proud to be recognized for our diligent work of consistently bringing new bid, work, and event opportunities from top prime companies in America thru our world class website and weekly e-newsletter as well as assisting said firms with minority certification assistance.  In 2009, MWMCA honored Congressman Cummings as the, Most Inclusive Leader of the Year for Minority Business Enterprise. Congressman Cummings also served as our keynote speaker and delivered an unforgettable speech that will inspire for years to come. Select here to view that memorable and inspiring speech. We pray that the late unequivocal leader is dancing with the angels and shining his light on our honor in his name. We thank the GBC for embracing Supplier Diversity and Equity Inclusion and pray that both continue to evolve,” said Wayne R. Frazier, Sr, President, MWMCA.
